Possibly nested patterns if the code is problematic. Overall, once the scanner displays a PC what is unique about that PC? Was it the last to print, was it the last to send a print job, was it the last to obtain a DHCP IP address? Seems arbitrary but being software there must be a pattern. That should not inhibit the search process. It makes sense that scanning would be limited to just one target PC. Last Activity Viewer is another diagnostic tool.Įventually ending up with only one viewable target PC after flashing two or three options suggests that some process is taking place to search for PC's, finding some, but only showing one choice. I would be curious about any error messages that may be being captured on the target PC's when an attempt to scan to any given target PC is made. In order to list the PC names means there must be some table somewhere that the printer accesses to get the respective "Network Scan Names", the PC's IP address, and possibly the MAC.Ī corrupted "table" would certainly wreak havoc in some form or another. Have you been able to try changing any of the PC's respective "Network Scan Names"? However, trying to find a way to prove that or any other issue could be a bit demanding. And something I think Epson would know about and fix. So, does anyone have any idea as to why the control panel on the printer ONLY SHOWS 1 random pc at a time and not ALL the pc's that are connected?įrankly that seems to me to be a firmware issue. Nope, still can't figure it out so I get hung-up on. then get put on hold 8 different times to talk to someone else why this is happening. same thing, this time uninstall Epson Event Manager and re-install and it should work. The 2nd HOUR she routed me to ANOTHER rep, Tier 2 I guess. yeah yeah yeah, all been done and all works perfectly fine. Turn off all the firewalls, ping the printer from the PCs, print from the PCs, use Scan 2 to scan from the PCs. the first HOUR i was on with them she just ran me through all the normal crap that we've already did over and over again since we got the printer. I think it looks for the PCs and whichever PC responds to the printer first is the one that it displays. it will always change for no reason at all. We've got 8 PCs connected and only 1 shows. When you go to Scan, then pick your file type (jpg, pdf.) it should then display ALL the PCs on the network that are running the Epson Scan 2 software which installs "Epson Event Manager" in the background. So we've had an Epson ET4700 for about a year now and it runs perfectly EXCEPT for when we try to Scan from the control panel of the printer.
